MANAJEMEN PENGEMBANGAN KOMPETENSI PEDAGOGIS DOSEN DALAM PENGELOLAAN PEMBELAJARAN DI PERGURUAN TINGGI

Abstract

Lecturers’ pedagogical competence is a core aspect of learning management in higher education, and its development requires a planned, systematic, and sustainable process. This study aims to describe the management of lecturers’ pedagogical competence development to support learning quality in higher education. A descriptive qualitative approach was employed using a literature review method. Data were obtained from relevant journal articles and scholarly publications published between 2023 and 2025 and collected through Google Scholar. The data were analyzed through selection, categorization, and thematic synthesis based on the identified topics. The findings indicate that pedagogical competence includes understanding student characteristics, learning planning, strategy selection, classroom interaction management, technology integration, and learning assessment. Its development involves needs identification, program planning, professional development implementation, monitoring, and evaluation. The findings imply that improving lecturers’ pedagogical competence requires continuous development rather than one-time training. Institutional support through policies, facilities, funding, and a conducive academic environment is also essential to sustain the development process. Future research is suggested to empirically examine the impact of pedagogical competence development programs on student learning outcomes, identify implementation barriers in resource-limited institutions, and develop context-specific models for Islamic higher education.
