RELEVANSI KONSEP PENDIDIKAN IKHWAN AS-SHAFA TERHADAP PEMBENTUKAN KARAKTER MAHASISWA DI MASA KINI
Abstract
This study is motivated by the growing phenomenon of moral crisis among students and university students in the modern era. This condition requires an educational concept that focuses not only on intellectual development but also on character and moral formation. The study aims to examine the relevance of the educational concept of Ikhwan as-Shafa to the character development of contemporary university students. This research employs a library research method by reviewing various literature related to the educational thought of Ikhwan as-Shafa and character education. The findings reveal that the educational concept of Ikhwan as-Shafa remains highly relevant to character formation, particularly through its emphasis on the integration of knowledge, moral cultivation, spiritual development, and the balance between intellectual and ethical dimensions. These principles can serve as a foundation for educators in addressing moral disruption and ethical challenges in the modern era. Therefore, the educational values of Ikhwan as-Shafa offer a potential alternative framework for nurturing knowledgeable, responsible, and morally grounded generations.
