Abstract

This study aims to describe the use of gadgets and its relationship with the academic achievement of sixth-grade students at SD Negeri Pilang 1, Probolinggo City. The study employed a qualitative approach using a case study design. Data were collected through observations, interviews, and documentation involving teachers and sixth-grade students. Data analysis was conducted through the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing, while data validity was ensured through source triangulation and technique triangulation. The results showed that gadget use has both positive and negative effects on students' learning processes. The wise use of gadgets can help students obtain information and support the completion of school assignments. However, excessive gadget use can reduce study time, decrease concentration, and limit students' social interaction. The study also revealed that the roles of teachers and parents are crucial in providing guidance and supervision to ensure that gadget use provides optimal benefits for students' academic development
